Salem County Cyclist

Cyclist identified as John Kowalski, 41, of Carneys Point.

On Monday, April 17, 2023, at approximately 7:15 a.m., the Salem County Prosecutor's Office responded to a fatal motor vehicle crash involving a cyclist and a dump truck on Salem-Woodstown Road in Pilesgrove Township.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a dump truck was traveling southbound on Salem-Woodstown Road when it struck a cyclist who was traveling in the same direction.

The cyclist, John Kowalski, 41, of Carneys Point, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the dump truck, Jose Rodriguez, 52, of Pennsville, was not injured.

The Salem County Prosecutor's Office is investigating the crash.
